Bizi canımızdan bezdirmeye niyetli bir hocamız dır bu ödevi veren kişinin kendileri, bende birazcık yabancı dizilerle öğrendiğim ingilizcem ile bu çeviriyi yapamadım tabiki:jil::jil:, birbuçuk sayfa kadar çeviri yapmam gerekiyor şimdilik 1 paragraf ı buraya yazıyorum umarım yardımcı olabilirsiniz arkadaşlar şimdiden sağolun.
a heavy body, such as a large rock, can be raised casily when it is under water, but seems to be much havier as soon as it comes out into the air. the apparent loss of weight when a body is placed in liquid may be demonstrated as follows. hang a stone from a spring balance by means of a thread and gradually lower the stone into a vessel containing water. as soon as the stone touches the water the spring balance reading is reduced, showing that the water exerts an upthrust on the stone. the spring balance reading will continue to get smaler as more of the stone enters the water, until the stone is completely immersed. there will be no change in the reading as the stone is lowered to greater depth. ıf the stone is then gradually withdrawn from the water, the changes in the balance reading will be reversed. these facts were accounted for by the greek philosopher archimedes.who started the apparent loss of weight of a body when it is immersed in a liquid is equal to the weight of liquid displaced. there are several simple but important applications of this principle. for exemple, if we want to find the volume of an irregular solid we may weight the solid hanging in air and then reweigh it hanging in water. suppose we find that the apparent loss of weight is 3g. then the water displaced has a mass of 3g and therefore has a volume of 3cm,which must be the volume of the solid.
